In 1975, our forefathers laid the foundation for Mahabir Shellac Factory, a shellac manufacturing facility based in the area of Balarampur, West Bengal, India, one of the most voluminous shellac trading zones globally. We started exporting in 1994 and soon made a mark through our quality, making us one of the market leaders in shellac products’ exports in the world, and our products being shipped globally.
With our roots set firmly and having established our credentials for product quality, we began manufacturing Aleuritic Acid in 2001, becoming a relied supplier for our customer. We eventually down streamed to manufacturing & exporting of Ambrettolide, under the name of RS Shells.
We apply absolute precision in every processing step of the key raw material, Sticklac which is then being processed into Ambrettolide. Being one of the very few manufacturers globally who have control on the entire value chain given that we manufacture our raw meterial in-house, we have been able to able to deliver customer satisfaction through superior products to various MNCs globally.
Our company is now a proud vendor for most of the consumers within the Ambretollide industry, as can be seen by our footprint, which has grown fourfold in the last three years. Our reputation of on time delivery at most competitive costs in the market make us a go to partner for many of our clients.

Carrying The Legacy
We started manufacturing of Ambrettolide – the end product from Aleuritic Acid and has established a world class plant to manufacture 30.00 Metric tonnes of Ambrettolide per annum in 2015.
